The New York Yankees struck out on Cliff Lee when he was traded to Texas, but could they get Roy Oswalt from the Astros?

Houston is not in the race for a playoff spot, so they will trade Oswalt if a team makes a convincing offer. New York is a team that could offer Houston top prospects and a pitcher in return on the roster.

Joba Chamberlain is not doing good at all this season. He was suppose to be a top pitcher on their staff and has turned into an overhyped pitcher in the bullpen. So, i could see an Oswalt-Chamberlain swap at the trade deadline.

Oswalt has been put into a bad situation in Houston and he says he wanted out there. I think every players' dream is to play in pinstripes for the Yankees. Oswalt would fit right in New York and would be their number two starter.

The Yankees' pitching rotation now would be one of the best in the MLB. Well, I think it would be the best with C.C. Sabathia, Roy Oswalt, and Andy Petite on one team. Then, you have Mariano Rivera closing the game out for New York. That would be one of the best pitching staffs in a long time.

New York offers the best package for Houston. They can offer many prospects and Joba Chamberlain for Oswalt. Houston would get younger, which would be best way to go.

Overall, if Houston is willing to trade Roy Oswalt at the MLB Trade Deadline on July 31st, they should start talking with the New York Yankees. It would be the best trade option for both teams.
