Geaux Hornets: Don't Count Out the New Orleans Hornets
Last year was a struggle for the Hornets. There star player, Chris Paul was injured for most of the season.
Darren Collison became the starter after Chris Paul was injured. He did very well and almost brought New Orleans to the NBA playoffs as the #8 seed.
The Hornets have great young talent to surround Chris Paul. Marcus Thornton came up huge during the season, so did David West who was the only star after Paul's injury.
The Hornets are looking for a new coach. New Orleans should hire Avery Johnson.
He brought the Dallas Mavericks to great seasons. He always won over 50 games with the Mavs before he was fired.
When you bring all of these factors together, the New Orleans Hornets should be on the rise next year. With Chris Paul healthy alongside Darren Collison, David West, and Marcus Thornton they should be a playoff team.
The Hornets hold the #11 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. They are a lot of ways they could go with this pick.
I think they go big man in the draft. They need a bruiser on the boards and a player that can be a defensive force.
Daniel Orton fits that role for New Orleans. He is 6'10 and 260 pounds, he is the most underrated player from the Kentucky Freshman class.
Orton can rebound, block shots, and gives you all he has on the court.
Overall, Daniel Orton fits what the New Orleans Hornets need.
Watch out for the New Orleans Hornets next year. They might come and steal a playoff spot next year.
